When a soldier is wounded, the first record of their care is often a note on a card, a radio call or a medic's memory. Much of it is lost at the first handover. Caslog replaces that with a small recorder that clips onto the casualty, listens to the care being given and turns it into a clinical record that follows the patient from point of injury to hospital. We build it together with combat medics in Ukraine.

We are two founders, Swiss and Ukrainian, both serving military officers, and we have closed our pre-seed round. We're looking for the engineer who builds our next device generation with us.

What you'll work on

The next generation of our device: smaller, longer-running, with more sensors, and ready for production. You own it technically, together with our technical founder and our development partners:

  • Boards: schematics, layout, part choice and the trade-offs between size, power, cost and what we can actually buy.
  • Enclosure: sealed, usable with gloves and designed for moulding, for a device that goes onto a wounded soldier in mud, rain and cold.
  • Bring-up and validation: bench tests, antenna tuning, test rigs and reports that show a unit is ready for the field.
  • Production: design for manufacturing, contract manufacturers, test fixtures, and later EMC and medical certification.

You own the device's firmware, from drivers and power management to what the device does; our technical founder defines how it works with the phone and the server.

Hardware at agent speed

Coding agents changed software forever. We think hardware is next, and we want the engineer who pushes that hardest: agents that read datasheets and errata, review a schematic or a bill of materials, script KiCad and CAD, model enclosure variants overnight, write bring-up firmware and turn bench data into reports. One engineer with agents can now cover what used to take a hardware team, and iterate in days instead of months. If that excites you, read on.

Our stack

KiCad, ESP32-family microcontrollers with C on ESP-IDF, 3D printing, STEP, and GitLab for everything, hardware files included. You have an opinion on SolidCraft. Ideally a strong one, and ideally backed by a part you modelled with it.

Who you are

  • You have 2+ years of designing electronics that shipped, including low-power, mixed-signal and RF, and you've found the fault with a scope.
  • You write solid embedded software: drivers, low-power design and the device logic on top, in C on an RTOS, with tests and a clean repository.
  • You design enclosures as well as boards: seals, acoustic ports, snap fits and moulded parts.
  • You've worked with contract manufacturers and know what to do when a batch fails.
  • You use Claude Code, Codex or a similar agent harness every day, and you notice when an agent misreads a datasheet.

Bonus: audio, NFC antennas, wearables or medical devices, rugged or military hardware, EMC, speaking Ukrainian, a background in medicine or the military.

Format and what we offer

  • A very attractive salary and stock options. Full-time, part-time or contractor: we're open to the format that fits you.
  • Work on a device with an unusually clear purpose: wounded people getting the right care.
  • We pay for your agent subscriptions. Remote, with occasional meetups in Kyiv.

This is defense work. If that's not for you, we understand and would rather you know now. For security reasons, we don't hire citizens of Russia or Belarus, and every hire passes a background check.

How to apply

No cover letter needed. Send us your CV, your LinkedIn profile and a device you designed, with how agents helped and one place where they got it wrong. Write to hello@caslog.ai. After a call and a live walkthrough of your device, we run a background check and a one-week paid trial on real work.
